For ten years the UK-based company Jones Skips has been relying on our shredding technology. Now the skip hire provider and waste disposal specialist has invested in our efficient INVENTHOR 6 Plus. Our long-standing sales partner Blue Group supported the negotiations.
Just like Doppstadt Jones Skips is a family enterprise with tradition. Set up in 1998 by Lyndon Rushby and his father, the British company is now one of the leading skip hire providers in the West Midlands. Jones Skip Hire’s other services include: waste disposal, special waste disposal, bulk haulage, tipper lorry hire and road sweeper hire.
Wide Range of Applications: INVENTHOR 6 Plus Provides for Efficient Waste Shredding
As a waste management specialist firm Jones Skips caters for the disposal of all sorts of waste – both residential and from business enterprises. All the incoming waste is collected and processed on the company premises for waste-to-energy.
For this purpose the Wolverhampton-based company has already relied on the efficient Doppstadt shredding technology for ten years. During that time they have been running our robust DW 3060 shredder. Managing Director Lyndon Rushby was so impressed by its high power output and reliable technology that he invested in the DW’s successor model INVENTHOR 6 Plus. “We have complete trust in the Doppstadt brand. The DW 3060 is a fantastic machine “, Rushby said. It only lacked a component, which was important to Jones Skips: an automatic cleaning cycle. “If the operator didn’t clean the drum soon enough the combs were worn out after some time. The fact that the new Type 6 Plus has a cleaning cycle is a massive plus for us", Rushby adds.
INVENTHOR 6 Plus Sets New Standards for Shredding Efficiency
After the market launch of the INVENTHOR 6 Plus in 2020 Jones Skips secured the UK’s first “Plus” model. Our long-standing sales partner Blue Group concluded the deal. The INVENTHOR 6 Plus impressed the waste disposal specialist with its 310 kW Caterpillar engine and the enhanced shredding drum with 30 instead of the standard drum with 20 teeth. Thanks to the extra teeth and more powerful engine, the high-performance shredder achieves an appr. 70 per cent higher output per cubic meter of material and a finer material size.
Jones Skips uses the new INVENTHOR 6 PLUS mainly to shred residual waste before screening it by means of our SM 620K plus trommel screen. Furthermore, the INVENTHOR is used to process wood.
Successful Demonstration, Great Satisfaction
Given the many technical benefits, the decision to buy our high-performance shredder was easy, as managing director Rushby emphasizes: “The Blue Group brought the INVENTHOR to our premises for demonstration for one day. We liked it that much that we didn’t want to give it back. So we bought it there and then.“
Rushby was particularly impressed by the easy handling and maintenance and the high throughput. “The INVENTHOR 6 Plus is lighter and much easier to move around the yard than its predecessor. However the throughput is as good as, if not better than the old 3060 – despite the slightly smaller drum. The new machine is also much easier to do maintenance on because the comb bar drops down easily and blockages are no problem.“ Rushby is sure that the investment in the INVENTHOR 6 Plus will support the company’s commitment to being the number one recycling company within the West Midlands.
